Blizzard Entertainment has published a roadmap with development plans Overwatch 2. The developers talked about future events, heroes, PvE content and much more.
For example, in the fifth season, players are waiting for a new event dedicated to the fantasy world, the Summer Games, a cinematic, and a workshop mode. In the sixth game, for the first time, story PvE missions will appear in the game, which the developers initially promised to add at the release of Overwatch 2 – this will not be a full-fledged standalone mode. In addition, a new support hero, map, and character mastery system will be added in the sixth season. Later in the game there will also be a new tank, a collaboration event with another brand, a rework of Roadhog and Sombra, a new CGI cinematic, and much more.
Previously, Blizzard explained why the authors of Overwatch 2 delayed the release of PvE story content. The main reason was the need for additional elaboration of missions and new unique mechanics. How often the story missions will be released is unknown.
