IT Specialist Kills Wife and Dumps Body in Suitcase with Father’s Help

  • Before killing her, the IT specialist put their child on the school bus
  • After killing her, he called his father and said: I have finished the job
  • He threw her phone near the metro station on Bulgaria Blvd., and his parent dumped the suitcase with the corpse from the trunk

Computer specialist Orlin Vladimirov began to choke his wife Evgenia in the back, but she turned and he knocked her to the ground to finish her off. The confession was made by Orlin himself to an inspector from the SDVR after his arrest in November 2021.

The 33-year-old woman disappeared on October 13, 2021, and a month later she was found stuffed in a suitcase near Pernik. The defendants are her husband Orlin and his father Plamen Vladimirov.

On Tuesday, in the Sofia City Court, where the case against them is ongoing, an inspector and an intelligence officer from the sector for investigating crimes against the person in the SDVR were questioned. They spoke to the two men on the night of their arrest on November 13, 2021.

The father and son were in different rooms. At the talks, which started around 9 p.m., there were also other employees of the SDVR, as well as two psychologists. One was Todor Todorov, who years ago worked in the Ministry of the Interior. Todorov said that after Evgenia’s disappearance, her relatives contacted him and asked for help. For a whole month in the fall of 2021, her husband Orlin claimed she went to the gym and never saw her again. However, Evgenia’s family began to doubt him because he was not active in the search, refused to submit to a detector and tried to extract information in conversations with them.

At the talk, Orlin first told general stories about his relationship with Evgenia. Then he began to tell. The inspector was under the impression that

his motive to

kill your wife

is jealousy

Before strangling her, Orlin sent their son to school by bus. After he got home, he saw a message she had written to the child’s teacher. Made a comment on this occasion. Thus, the young woman’s suspicions that her husband was following her, including that he was controlling her phone, were confirmed. Indeed Orlin was

and writes to himself. They had an argument and he started choking her behind. Then he wrapped his wife’s head in cling film. He stuffed the body into a dark blue suitcase. It was not specially prepared for this purpose, and the family had it in their home. Evgenia’s brother Nikolay Chorbanov asked if his sister was alive when Orlin wrapped her head with the stretch film. The inspector explained that he was not left with such impressions. Orlin had not told him why he had decided to use the foil.

After killing her, Orlin rode his bicycle to the metro station on Bulgaria Blvd. and threw away his wife’s phone there.

At some point, he called his father, Plamen Vladimirov, a former employee of DANS. He said to him: Father, I have finished the work.

Before the murder, the father and son had conversations on this subject. Orlin had admitted to him that he had similar intentions. Therefore, when he heard his son, he understood what had happened.

Then Plamen, who was in his apartment in Pernik, started the car and arrived in Sofia. The two men carried the suitcase together to the car.

Plamen went to Pernik. He knew the area of Kudin Dol well because he used to go there for fish. He got rid of the suitcase in the tailings of the vet. However, a sudden problem appeared – since he had been operated on, he could not lift heavy.

Then he put the car in reverse with the trunk open and so on

the suitcase with the corpse

of Evgenia alone

dropped out

in the sloping area. Along with it, however, tools also fell from the trunk.

The father had taken the identity card of his daughter-in-law Evgenia, which he then burned on the balcony of his apartment.

Forensic experts did not get the impression that the murder was planned for that particular day. At the talk, Orlin was calm, by that time the dark blue suitcase had already been discovered in the tailings storage.

“A decision was made by the management that he will be detained and that evening he will be dealt with,” said the inspector.

Plamen was also adequate. The intelligence officer, who interviewed him, denied that he smelled of alcohol upon his arrival at the SDVR or that he was given anything to drink there. The question about alcohol was asked by Plamen Vladimirov’s lawyers.

He was brought to the SDVR together with his wife Boryana directly from Pernik, where they were when forensic experts unraveled Evgenia’s murder.

Days before he was detained, Plamen met a friend of his in Pernik. He told him that his daughter-in-law had disappeared and wept.

“When he told everything, I think he was relieved,” said the forensic scientist.

From the beginning of

the case the father and

Security guards at the tailings storage facility and the area around the hydroelectric power plant, where the suitcase was found, also gave testimony before the court.

“I saw the suitcase, it was dark and wrapped in household cling film. I have not touched it, I have not opened it. I immediately called the security at the hydroelectric plant to contact the police because I assumed they had left coordinates. About two weeks earlier, police officers from Sofia came to ask where in the area a suitcase might have been dumped and asked if we had found it,” said one of the employees who were patrolling the area of the tailings storage facility.
