“Vandana Das Murder Case: Accused Sandeep’s Mental Condition to be Re-Examined Today”

Kollam: Vandana Das murder case accused Sandeep’s mental condition will be re-examined today. For this, the accused in custody will be produced before the Medical Board in Thiruvananthapuram. The Board is headed by the Superintendent of the Medical College. The action is taken in consideration of the demand of the respondent.

Sandeep, the accused who killed Dr. Vandana Das, was found not to have any serious mental health problems during routine check-ups at Poojappura Central Jail. The examination was conducted by a doctor at Perurkada Mental Health Centre. But when the defendant was produced in the court the other day, the defense lawyer told the court that Sandeep is suffering from severe mental stress, and this should be re-examined and confirmed. It is in this situation that the accused is again subjected to psychological examination and counselling.

Meanwhile, the crime branch team has started questioning Sandeep. One of the important things to know is how and when the scissors used for the stabbing were acquired. It is also known how the wound on Sandeep’s leg got. Initial treatment has been given to the leg. He was treated at Punalur Taluk Hospital. If there is a situation where the leg has to be plastered, it will be delayed by taking the incident to the Kottarakkara Taluka hospital where the incident took place.
