Örgryte’s Viktor Lundberg was elbowed in the face – and was left lying down.
When the midfielder got up, he was covered in blood all over his cheek.
– He feels that he is being hit with a clenched fist, says ÖIS coach Jeffrey Aubynn to GP.
It was with just over 20 minutes left in the crossover match between Örebro and Örgryte that the accident happened.
In connection with a corner, Örgryte’s Viktor Lundberg was elbowed in the face by Örebro’s Nasiru Moro – and fell to the ground.
“Blow with clenched fist”
The defender was warned and when Lundberg stood up, he was bloody over large parts of his right cheek.
Thoroughly annoyed, he approached referee Adi Aganovic and said some well, or not so well, chosen words.
– Viktor was very upset afterwards. He feels that he receives a blow with a clenched fist. However, I have not seen the situation so I cannot comment on it, says ÖIS coach Jeffrey Aubynn GP.
Bärkroths comeback
Shortly after the incident, Nicklas Bärkroth was replaced, after a month’s injury absence. Immediately, the winger was behind a couple of positions, but the clean sheet remained intact.
– It will take a little more time before you are in full shape. But it was fun to be out there and feel the touch, says Bärkroth in Discovery+.
The match ended 0–0, which means that ÖIS remains in the qualification spot. It is their fifth cross in seven rounds.
Örebro is in eleventh place, with nine recorded points.
