In today’s society, appearance is one of the fundamental aspects, each individual always tries to show himself perfect, always impeccable, and personal grooming fits into this new culture of appearance. There are many people who try to go out perfectly with the right haircut, well-groomed hands and the right clothes for the occasion.
The main character of the story we are about to tell has always loved to look flawless, she especially wanted her nails to be perfect. Too bad, however, that after many years of manicure, the moment has come when she can barely move her hands. Let’s see what happened.
Lisa Dewey is a 36-year-old mother from Pattishall, Northamptonshire, England, who has always loved to look well-groomed. For this reason, she spent a lot of time at the beautician taking care of her nails. After years without any problems, she found herself unable to even close her hands due to a suspected allergic reaction to a gel nail.
It all happened suddenly, after treatment, the woman’s nails became inflamed and began to fall off. She was shocked, did not hesitate and immediately contacted her doctor. The latter thinks that everything is due to a bacterial infection. However, now this ailment does not allow her to perform even the simplest actions, but most of all she is afraid of having to give up her job in a cleaning company. Although the treatment received is no different from previous years, this time the consequences were serious and alarming, and for these reasons she began to take a course of treatment.
“I never – told the woman – expected anything like this. It all happened suddenly, my nails started to come off very easily, I was afraid of losing a finger. I can’t shake hands. I was even afraid to use of my fingers completely when I saw bruises appear, but luckily this is not the case. Before starting treatment, people need to know for sure what they are doing, otherwise they risk ending up in the same situation as me.”
