Former Frp Member Lars Petter Solås Retires from Electoral List

Lars Petter Solås has today applied to be removed from the Frp’s electoral list. He has already been excluded from the party after a nachspiel at the end of April.

He was recently stripped of his membership in the Frp, but is still at the top of the Oslo Frp’s electoral list. Which means that he can be elected even if he is excluded from the party.

Now Solås confirms on Facebook that he is withdrawing from the party’s list.

– I have always been aware that the responsibility for what happened at the nachspielet during the Frp’s national meeting on 29 April lies with me, and I have been determined to take that responsibility and to correct my mistakes. It also means that I will not stand in the way of the party and the other talented candidates on the list of Oslo Frp in the upcoming election, he writes on Facebook.

– That is why I have today applied to the electoral board in Oslo to be removed from the party’s lists for the city council and district committee.

The reason why he was excluded from the party is his behavior during a nachspiel after the Frp national meeting on the night of Saturday 29 April. Among other things, he is said to have grabbed a journalist in the crotch.

– I’ve made a fool of myself. During the national meeting on Saturday 29 April, I drank far too much and lost control of myself. At a nachspiel I behaved recklessly towards several journalists. Several newspapers have covered the events, Solås has previously written on Facebook.

– The case has shown that trust in Solås has been lost through behavior for which we have zero tolerance, party leader Sylvi Listhaug previously stated in a press release.

On Tuesday, he submitted the application.

– The most important thing for me in party politics is not myself, positions or positions. The most important things for me have always been the causes I’ve been passionate about and the city I live in.

Solås writes that he will now spend more time with family and friends.

– It may sound like a cliché, but I will simply spend time becoming a better version of myself. I am still on sick leave and will be difficult to reach in the future.
