How Substitute Nests Help Protect Swallows During Construction: Moselis and LPO Partnership

Substitute nests

The nesting of swallows has not yet been observed, but as long as these migratory birds are in our latitudes, no construction site likely to disturb them can be relaunched. Moselis has, for this reason, in partnership with the LPO, placed substitute nests in the neighborhood to divert the birds to other places. A new expertise is planned for the beginning of June and will give rise to a report which, this time, should authorize the destruction of the buildings in the fall. “We will still be within the ANRU (National Agency for Urban Renewal) deadlines,” continues the general manager of Moselis, who hopes to see the end of the tunnel.

Remember that this project has already been delayed due to the presence, in the Chevreuil tower, of a dozen squatters who had to be dislodged not without difficulty.
