In court, he again stated that he was sorry
Adrian Antonov, the 18-year-old driver who caused the serious accident with two victims on the capital’s “Slivnitsa” boulevard, was placed in permanent custody. While crossing a pedestrian path, 22-year-old Yavor Stoyanov and his 24-year-old girlfriend Anna-Maria Malcheva died.
“All I want to say is I’m sorry. I express my sincere condolences”, said Antonov in the courtroom today.

The court considers that there is a real danger of committing a new crime. The accused, driving the car at an excessive speed, showed arrogance bordering on recklessness, are among the motives of the prosecution.
We remind you that already last week the request of Antonov’s defense for a measure of “house arrest” was not respected by the court for the same reasons.

Initial data indicate that the 18-year-old driver was driving the car at a speed twice the speed limit of 50 km/h – around 101 km/h.
After the crash at the intersection, protests followed at the site where Yavor and Ani lost their lives. People are demanding urgent measures and changes to stop the war in its tracks.
