Gijs Rademaker: “I am extremely proud that we are officially launching the ‘RTL Nieuwspanel’ today. As a news organization, it is becoming increasingly important in these times of social tension and increasing polarization to actively collect information.”
Rademaker will collect this information by regularly asking panel members about their opinions and experiences through questionnaires. How much confidence do they have in the cabinet, do they dare to go out alone at night, can they still afford the groceries, how quickly can they see their GP? The public thus provides input for journalistic stories.
Silent majority
He hopes that many people will sign up, so that everyone is well represented. “Often the extreme opinions are discussed, but most people are not so fierce. We will add what people in the country think of current issues and in what proportions. That will give the silent majority a voice in our news programs and on the talk show tables, where the social debate is conducted daily in many areas.”
This is how you sign up
Every Dutch person from the age of 18 can become a member of the RTL Nieuwspanel. We hope to welcome all possible different people/opinions in the Netherlands to our panel.
Here you can register for the panel. Don’t forget to confirm your registration via the link in your mailbox.
Keep an eye on what’s going on
Ilse Openneer, editor-in-chief of RTL News: “At RTL News, an eye for what is going on in the country is indispensable. With the ‘RTL Nieuwspanel’, we as a news organization have an important tool to make our audience our ally. I can’t wait to see all journalistic translations from the panel reflected in our news platforms and talk shows.”
Panel member recruitment starts today. As soon as there are enough participants, surveys will start among the panel members. The publications of the ‘RTL Nieuwspanel’ will in any case appear in the various broadcasts and on the websites of ‘RTL Nieuws’, ‘EditieNL’ and in the late-night RTL talk shows.
