Controversy Surrounds Ladder in Post Office in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – An image circulated by activists on social media sparked controversy of a ladder in a post office in Sharkia Governorate in Egypt because it has no door as it ends with a wall, which raised questions about the reason for building this ladder.

The State Information Service also drew attention to a statement issued by the National Post Authority, which said that this office is one of the post offices to be provided with an automatic teller machine, and “the drawer shown in the picture is the drawer of an ATM that is being installed, and given that the final finishing work in the office requires the installation of the drawer and its supplies in preparation for the installation The automated teller machine, the ladder has been installed and the place of the machine has been closed as a security measure until the machine is installed.

She added, “We would like to clarify that the ATM is currently being installed, and we appeal to social media users to investigate objective accuracy in publishing the news, and the need to communicate with the relevant authorities to verify the information before publishing it in order to avoid creating confusion among citizens.”
