Manual Ticketing Reintroduced in Jakarta by Polda Metro Jaya

Jakarta

Polda Metro Jaya reintroduced manual ticket after being banned for some time. Manual fines are re-enforced considering the number of violations that are not covered by E-TLE (Electronic-Traffic Law Enforcement).

The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya revealed that his party is still optimizing electronic enforcement through E-TLE cameras. However, the police will also issue manual fines for violations that occur in plain view in areas that are not covered by E-TLEE.

As is known, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo had issued a telegram (ST) which prohibited manual fines. Sigit at that time asked the ranks of the traffic police to maximize electronic enforcement.

However, this time General Sigit asked his staff to return to ticketing on the spot. In other words, the ranks of the traffic police can give tickets manually to traffic violators.

Manual Tilang is back in effect

The ranks of the Polda Metro Jaya Ditlantas have again imposed manual ticketing. One reason is because there are many violations that are not covered by E-TLE (electronic-traffic law enforcement).

“(Manual tickets have been reinstated). There have been instructions from Headquarters,” said Head of Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jhonny Eka in a statement to journalists, Monday (15/5/2023).

Manual Tilang Reason Happens Again

Jhonny explained that one of the reasons for manual fines being reinstated was the prevalence of violations that were not covered by E-TLE.

“Yes. Now there are a lot of violations or those that are not covered by E-TLE. Or those that endanger motorists, either themselves or others. If there is no E-TLE, manual action can be taken,” he said.

Jhonny continued, the police are still maximizing ticketing through E-TLE. However, in some places it is not supported by E-TLE a manual ticket will be applied.

“Yes, we do a maximum assessment of e-TLE. However, in places that are not supported by E-TLE, we do manual fines,” he added.
