“Indra Sjafri’s Coaching Record: Winning the 2019 AFF U-22 Cup and Hope for 2023 SEA Games Final Against Thailand”

Indra Sjafri had a good moment on carry Indonesian U-22 National Team won the 2019 AFF U-22 Cup after defeating Thailand in the final match which was held at the Olympic National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The coach of the U-22 Indonesian National Team, Indra Sjafri, has a good report card for guiding the Garuda team in several final matches. It is hoped that this positive record will give good hope for Indonesia ahead of facing Thailand in the 2023 SEA Games final, Tuesday (16/5).

In his coaching career, Indra Sjafri has brought two age groups for the Indonesian national team to appear in the final match three times. Two final matches were won by Indra, while one other match was lost.

The two wins were won by Indra Sjafri when he handled the U-22 Indonesian National Team in the 2019 AFF U-22 Cup and when he brought the U-19 Indonesian National Team to win the 2013 AFF U-19 Cup.

Indra Sjafri succeeded in bringing the U-22 Indonesian National Team to win the 2019 AFF U-22 Cup after defeating Thailand in the final match which was held at the Olympic National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 26 February 2019.

Interestingly, the Olympic National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia will again be the venue for the 2023 SEA Games final between Indonesia vs Thailand. It is also hoped that the luck of the Olympic National Stadium in Phnom Penh will again side with Indonesia in the final match of the 2023 SEA Games.

Before bringing the U-22 Indonesian National Team to win the 2019 SEA Games, Indra Sjafri also successfully led the U-19 Indonesian National Team to win the 2013 AFF U-19 Cup.

Indonesia won the 2013 AFF U-19 Cup after defeating Vietnam on penalties with a score of 7-6 after a 0-0 draw until extra round.

Meanwhile, Indra Sjafri’s only defeat with the Indonesian national team in the final match occurred in the men’s soccer final at the 2019 SEA Games. At that time Indonesia had to be willing to win a silver medal after losing 0-3 to Vietnam in the 2019 SEA Games final.
