Atletico Madrid failed to finish second in the Spanish Football League, after losing to its host Elche, 0/1, during the match that brought them together, Sunday, in the thirty-fourth round of the Spanish Football League, which also witnessed Valencia’s victory over Celta Vigo 2/1.

Elche owes credit for this victory to Fidel Chavez, who scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute.

Elche, who had been officially relegated from the First Division, raised his score to 19 points in the last twentieth place, and Atletico Madrid’s balance stopped at 69 points in third place, two points behind Real Madrid.

In the second match, the Valencia team won its host Celta de Vigo 2/1.
