A 21-year-old woman who attended a vocational school dreaming of becoming a police officer was found dead in a school dormitory. This student was a victim of sexual assault by a relative.
Su-Rong Choi, who passed away on his own at the end of last year.
It was his father who killed him.
After 10 years of divorce from my mother due to domestic violence and infidelity, I suddenly got a call.
“Now that you’re a college student, let’s eat,” was the saying.
However, after the meal, the father, who had offered to take us on a tour of the house, changed his attitude.
It is said that he beat and attempted to sexually assault Choi, who refused to make physical contact.

An attempted sexual assault case in which specific statements are also recorded.
It was even sexual assault by a relative targeting her daughter, but only ‘forced indecent assault’ was handed over to trial.
It was because the perpetrator denied it.

“Because they are the real father and the real daughter… it’s not easy for the police to just listen to one victim and conclude that this is a sex crime.”
The situation changed only after Choi died after suffering for nearly a year.
During the trial, the judge ex officio arrested the perpetrator.

“When I was arrested in court, I didn’t say ‘I’m sorry’ like ‘I’ll see you later’.”
The mother’s struggles, left alone, were difficult.
Even the lawyer who was saved by the victim support group did not appear in court, saying, “Since the victim died, there is no representation.”
Then, the father’s lawyer, the perpetrator, counterattacked.
He called his mother as a witness and said, “Didn’t Choi have mental problems since he was young?” and “Hasn’t he tried to commit suicide before?”

At a trial last month, the prosecution asked the court to sentence the perpetrator to 10 years in prison.
The penalty for rape is still high.
The shock of sending her daughter to the fore causes her mother to suffer from short-term memory loss, but there is a date she will never forget.
On the 24th, it is the sentencing day for the perpetrator.

“I think (relative sexual violence) should have a higher sentence. It’s not just one person’s problem, it’s the whole family’s problem… I want to go to the ranch and tell the kid, ‘I apologized instead’.”
