Thalheim Graz Giants Take Giant Strides Towards AFL Playoffs with 5-0 Record

Five games – five wins: Patriots, Rangers, Vikings, Ducks and now they were successful against the Raiders. The Thalheim Graz Giants are taking giant strides towards the AFL Playoffs.

The Giants started the game with the ball. After a 1st down, the hosts had to part with the ball right with a punt, in return they sent the guests from Tirol 3 & Out. Drive #2 also brought a first down and nothing more, after that there were the first points for the Tyroleans. After first downs by Simon Pilger, Stephen Schneider, Benedikt Radauer and Felix ReiterSchneider ran over 25 yards into the Graz end zone 0:7 (PAT good Sebastian Summerer). 9 plays over 79 yards for a touchdown – the Raiders set a first scent mark.

And that although the Grazers had previously been pushed back exactly 30 yards by penalties and a sack from their own 47. quarterback Wyatt Smith over 83 yards up Julian Capellari for the 7:7– Compensation (PAT Fabian Kager good). This was followed by the first turnover of the game. Pete Haffner caught a pass from Stefan Maiacher midfield off. The hosts didn’t miss the chance to take the lead in the game for the first time: a new signing Alexander Andrade, actually brought as a corner, ran to 14:7 (PAT Fabian Kager good). This seemed to break the resistance of the Raiders. After a 3 & Out, the guests conceded the 21:7 after a 45 yard rush from Fritz Bleckmann (PAT Fabian Kager good).

Giants play the win home

The character of the game changed little in the second half. Jonas Dachs-Wiesinger did that after a Smith pass 28:7 (PAT Fabian Kager good). On the other hand threw Stefan Maiacher his second interception (Marco Rumetshofer). Before the last change of sides, the victory was already in the bag for Graz.
