“Oaxaca’s Education Directorate assures respectful relationship with teachers, vows never to repeat past persecutions”

Oaxaca de Juarez, Oax. May 13, 2023.- The General Directorate of the State Institute of Public Education of Oaxaca (IEEPO) affirmed that it was fulfilled in due time and form by sending the list of teachers to the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) at the federal level.

In this regard, the head of the agency, Emilio Montero Pérez, explained that the administrative procedures of this last instance, through the Contribution Fund for Educational Payroll and Operating Expenses (FONE) led to the remuneration being scheduled for this Monday, May 15. , which will be fulfilled in a timely manner.

He affirmed that with the current administration there are new and good times to build a respectful relationship with education workers.

Montero Pérez stressed that, at no time have the expressions of the union’s struggle been affected, such as the one organized for this Monday, May 15, nor are leaders persecuted or will be persecuted, through discounts or suspension of payments, Just like past governments did.

“There will never be an IEEPO that persecutes the teachers’ movement or that tries to influence its decision-making,” he emphasized.

He indicated that the current administration is a democratic government, emanating from the popular struggle, and that it champions the best causes of the Oaxacan people; coincidences are sought on this route and agreements are reached that contribute to the transformation of the state.

“We are going to walk with the teachers and teachers to establish solid foundations in the construction of an education founded on the Oaxacan reality, for the benefit of our students and respect for their most elementary rights,” he concluded.
