French studios Polycorne recently announced the release date for the full version of their game, Silicon City. The game, which is already in Early Access, brings a new facet to CityBuilding games (creation and management of cities).
Silicon City is a game of the so-called CityBuilding genre, that is, a strategy game in which players build and manage a city and evolve it into a huge metropolis.
The game is in charge of the Gallic studios Polycorne, who have announced the final release date: June 22 of this year.
Silicon City tries, in the words of those responsible, “bring a breath of fresh air and innovation to games of the CityBuilding genre, in which all citizens are important and have a say“.
Like any city, Silicon City has its inhabitants. They are called Silizens and according to what is known from the game, they are unique individuals, that is, each one has their own personality traits, their specific needs, their intimate feelings, their opinions about what surrounds them and... of course… ability to vote.
And that's important, because we are the Mayor of Silicon City and it's important to have the Silizens satisfied and in a good mood, so that we can remain in the chair of power.
For this, there are several tools at our disposal that allow us to analyze the state of mind and mood of the citizens of Silicon City. Perhaps the most important tool is Bakr, a kind of Twitter that the city has implemented and that allows studying the daily behaviors and profiles of each Silizen.
The Silizens do not hesitate to share their needs, as well as their dissatisfaction or even resentment about the Mayor's decisions, in matters that concern the development of the metropolis and in this way, the player will have to be permanently attentive.
On the other hand, it is also necessary to turn the city into a metropolis with which you can attract Silizens to live there and make them stay. In this way, there are more than 50 different types of buildings created for this purpose, but with the curiosity of being procedurally generated. In other words, there are hundreds of possible combinations when creating neighborhoods in our city.
There are several types of graphical analysis that we can do to our city and its neighborhoods. As in other games of the genre, we can graphically visualize the value of the land, the coverage of the electricity network, traffic, among many others.
All this will be important to prepare the neighborhoods to be more commercial, residential….
The ability to transform Silicon City into an attractive city for residents and businesses, combined with the satisfaction of the Silizens, is the key to a possible re-election.
