“The Risks and Consequences of Launching a Second Hockey Competition in Slovakia”

In many ways, Slovakia is still a “Carpathian-type” democracy. Friendships are more than contracts and almost everything can be bought. Mentally, we are still in the 90s in some ways.

And it also applies in the hockey movement.

Nine extra-league clubs say they want to launch their own competition. Parallel to the official one, which was managed by the Slovak Ice Hockey Association until last season. He even titles it exactly the same as the name of the competition until now. A fan must have proper hockey skills.

Slovakia is too small a country to have two parallel top hockey competitions. One would say that it is difficult for the heat to have players, clubs and quality stadiums for one. It was enough when Slovan left for the KHL and the opponents saw it as a loss.

Now that more clubs are about to leave, is this supposed to be beneficial?

Why would someone clone a competition when the sports movement has long complained about a lack of money and advertising partners?

Club sports are more of a losing business.
