“Erik ten Hag optimistic about Manchester United’s summer transfer window and rebuilding process”

In the closed part of Friday’s press conference with Erik ten Hag, among other things the summer transfer window, the rebuilding of the club and the home form were topics that were raised.

When it comes to the transfer market, Ten Hag obviously has a brighter view of the coming summer, compared to last year.

– I see a big difference compared to last year. Then the players were a little more reserved when I talked to them. Now many players see the project, what is happening, the dynamics and ambitions of this project, and the quality in particular. They are very interested in coming, I have learned that, he says.

– It seemed that players were much more reserved last year. There was a lot of doubt when we interviewed players. This year, many quality players really want to come here, he says.

– On the right track

In Ten Hag’s first season as United manager, he has guided the team to a League Cup trophy, an FA Cup final against Manchester City at the start of June, as well as a current 4th place in the league with four games remaining in the season.

Still, not everyone is equally satisfied, and the Dutchman does not hide the fact that he experiences high expectations as manager at the club.

– Expectations are higher here, but we also have to recognize where we were last season and the last few seasons. We must rebuild and reconstruct.

– We are in that process and are on the right track. You can see it in the way we play, we are more proactive. You can see it in how we have already won one trophy, we are also in another final. I think we are going in the right direction and we are also in the top four at the moment and have to stay there.

– Of course we have to get better every day, so we have to work and improve. These are the demands of everyone in this club, the staff and players in particular, but also everyone else.

Does the good home trend continue?

On Saturday, Wolverhampton will visit Old Trafford, where United have shown very good form this season.

– We know that we are very strong at home. This is not such a good place for opponents to come.

– We have confidence here, have faith, and especially when we can create something together with the fans. But it always starts with the quality of how we play, so it’s our responsibility to do that.
