“Anduze Accommodations Prepare for Busy Season Amid Water Shortage Concerns”

With six campsites, three hotels and many lodges, Anduze offers a wide range of accommodation establishments for holidaymakers who frequent the region. Like their colleagues from Castel Rose, Arche, Pradal, Fauvettes and Lou Cantou, Olinda and Frédéric, owners of the Belété campsite, work hard to receive tourists in the best possible conditions.

For them, the season will really start from June 20, and reservations are already full until the end of August, promising a good season. “About 50% of holidaymakers return for the second time and take the opportunity to shine in the region. As far as attendance is concerned, we are confident that customers will be there. However, like all our colleagues, what worries us it is the current lack of water. From now on, being a campsite by the river is no longer an asset, it is essential to have a swimming pool. Fortunately, ours will be ready for the beginning of June for the passage of the ‘ARS (Regional Health Agency) who comes every year to do health checks. We have an obligation to empty it once a year, clean it and treat it to comply with hygiene rules.”

Pay attention to water savings

Due to the drought, all the campsites have received instructions from the FHPA (Fédération hôtellerie plein air) asking them to respect the decrees, to check the leaks on the networks, to follow the consumption on the meters, to put in place any solution to save water. “ We call on customers to be aware of the problem by closing the taps, staying in the shower for less time, using the air conditioning wiselyinsist the owners of the Bel Eté campsite. We have also put water reducers at the entrance of each camping house to go from 12 liters of water per minute to 7 liters. Just explain it to all newcomers. During the long weekends in May, we welcome motorcyclists and everyone has been very understanding.”

Water has become an expensive and above all rare commodity and now let’s hope that the summer will not end with a devastating gardonnage.
