At a time when Twitch and social media are very important in the promotion of your game, this has a much stronger effect on purchases. By the time it’s November, other games will be brought to the attention, because Hogwarts Legacy is almost a year old. Even then there will still be plenty of players and streamers, but the popularity won’t be the same anymore, it isn’t even now. There are exceptions, but in single player games this is often only long-term when it comes to established names or series.

Even the PS4/Xbox One releases were already quite late, although that’s not really something to complain about since they have a successor in the new generation and they should be happy that they even have the option to play without upgrading.
