Sheila: A Singer and Mother’s Journey through Tragedy and Love

Singer but mother above all. In the unpublished issue ofSecret Archives, broadcast on Friday May 12 on France 3, Sheila agreed to go back in time. For this occasion, the 77-year-old singer brought out the films of his happy years with his son Ludovic, the fruit of her love affair with the singer Ringo. Images that the interpreter of Spacer viewed with some emotion. And for good reason, his only child died at the age of 42, on July 7, 2017. A tragic disappearance that left a great void for the artist. The latter had a close relationship with the father of her granddaughter Tara-Rose. “Ludo, that was my driving force”, she confided with tenderness. Before continuing: “We’ve been together all the time. I tried to teach him as many things as possible.”

A single mother, Sheila has always done her best to ensure that Ludovic Chancel lacks nothing. “Since there’s no daddy in all this and that I’m single, of course, I’m in charge.”, she said. Indeed, the friend of Claude François made sure to reconcile her career and her life as a mother. The singer wanted to be as present as possible for her little boy. “The bottles, the diapers, the first steps and then I was singing songs to her. “I can’t get over it.” It is with modesty and sincerity that Sheila evokes the death of her son, in an interview with Galaon newsstands September 6. Ludovic Chancel died on July 7, 2017 of an overdose.. If Sheila does not recover from this departure, she has found a way to soothe her pain a little. “For the first time in my life, I saw a shrink. It feels good to talk, even if it doesn’t solve anything”said the singer. “I know Ludo is sitting next to me and listening if I don’t say something stupid.”

Sheila lives with the sincere belief that her son watches over her from where he is. “You know, Ludo was a heart on foota love of a kid who was rolled in the flour because he was too nice”he said. “He followed the wrong people, too. And the day there was the drug…it was dead.” The artist has long felt guilty about his son’s inclinations. “I searched for a long time where my mistake was. So I asked a doctor what I could do to help him.”, she revealed in our columns. And to conclude: “He explained to me that there was nothing I could do. That I had done my job raising him until he was 20 and that I was no longer responsible for his actions, his associations.
