“The Sound Poets’ Undine Balode talks about the special picture and her experience as the only woman in the group”

“It was clear that the special picture would be one of those with the Poets – my second family, because they certainly don’t mind publicity, unlike my first-degree relatives,” says Undine Balode, a member of the group “The Sound Poets” – cellist, adding: “It it’s so unfathomable that we, a group of random and random people, have been together for twelve years, know each other from angles like no one else, and still spark creative sparks together and do things that are important to us! And the coolest thing is that it resonates with others, that our music is important to the listeners as well. It’s a special kind of happiness.”

She also admits that it was very difficult to find her favorite photo, because, “believe me, we have many beautiful pictures together, so it was not easy to go down the memory lane, go through all the events and remember the different emotions. Simply put – a lot has happened! Therefore, it is best to be in the present, to which we have grown with all the baggage without which we would not be us now. Similar to how people often say that they would like to return to the past, but with current knowledge.” That’s why Undine chose a completely “fresh” photo: “Here we are: in the spring of 2023, preparing for a concert tour in Latvia, returning to the schedule of joint rehearsals, meeting everyday, trying to work together, take each other’s pros and cons into account and at the end of the day create something what good And yes, I like being the only woman in the group, because often with men, many things are simpler, sometimes even too simple. But most importantly, they make me feel special and laugh. As in this photograph: we have to look beautiful, pose, the photographer gives everyone small instructions, but someone “shoots” another joke, and of course I’m the one who laughs.
