Final8 DFFL on September 16, 2023 in Mülheim. One year after their 30th anniversary as a club, the Mülheim Shamrocks will host the Final8 DFFL 2023. In this Final8 DFFL tournament, the flag bowl winner will be determined, which corresponds to the German champion in the 5 flag.
This will be the first championship within the new German Flag Football League (DFFL). Due to the constantly growing demand in flag football, the league was divided into a 1st Bundesliga (DFFL) with 16 teams and a 2nd division (DFFL2) with over 70 teams.
This season, Germany’s 16 best flag teams will be fighting in four groups for a place in the final. The AFVD is pleased to have gained an established club and experienced organizer for the Final8 DFFL 2023 in the Mülheim Shamrocks. There will be an attractive supporting program and suitable catering on the day of the match. Further details will be announced later.
The Mülheim Shamrocks were founded in 1992 and have since grown to 10 teams. Unofficially, it all started in 1989 with the women’s team playing their first game that year. A youth flag team, the Mighty Midgets, was founded in 2006 and has had its own flag department since 2020. The club’s biggest success to date is winning the Ladies Bowl in 2014.
