“BP Jamsostek’s Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) Program Records 10,000 Claims Worth IDR 44.52 Billion”

Jakarta

BPJS Employment (BP Jamsostek) records the number of program claims Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) until the end of 2022 as many as 9,794 people with a nominal value of IDR 44.52 billion. The program was first launched in February 2022.

“Our JKP just started providing benefits last year, 12 February 2022. Until now the number of participants who received JKP was 9,794 people or nearly 10,000 with a nominal value of Rp. 44.516 billion,” said BP Jamsostek Main Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo during a public expose at his office, Jakarta South, Friday (12/5/2023).

Anggoro explained that JKP fees come from two sources, namely recomposition and the government. JKP contributions until 2022 are recorded at IDR 2.44 trillion, growing 25% compared to 2021 which was valued at IDR 1.95 trillion.

Even though the number of claims has skyrocketed, Anggoro said there is an important indicator, namely the number of program assets JKP also grew 33%, from IDR 7.95 trillion in 2021 to IDR 10.59 trillion in 2022. Meanwhile, the average JKP claim expense per month is IDR 3.7 billion.

With these indicators, the net assets of the JKP BPJS Employment program are estimated to cover claim payments for the next 2,807 months.

“JKP’s challenge is how do we continue to educate so that all participants who now have JKP and it turns out that layoffs occurred, they can benefit from JKP. We work with all companies to ensure their employees receive JKP benefits,” said Anggoro.

BP Jamsostek Deputy for Communications Oni Marbun said the industrial sectors that filed JKP claims tended to vary, one of which was mostly from the hotel and tourism sectors.

“The numbers don’t just have to be in hotels and tourism, there are others too, there are also many from other sectors and hotel tourism is one of the top three,” said Oni on the same occasion.
