The benefits of watermelon for mental health
Sabry added that watermelon derives its benefits for mental health from its high content of vitamin C, explaining that it not only helps to strengthen the immune system, but also contributes to:

It provides great protection for the central nervous system, especially the brain, against infection, thanks to its antioxidant properties.

The therapeutic nutrition consultant confirmed that studies have shown that vitamin C helps treat and reduce the incidence of anxiety disorder, depression and Alzheimer’s disease.
In a previous study, researchers found that depressed patients with vitamin C deficiency than normal felt a significant improvement in their mood when consuming vitamin C supplements and foods rich in it, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Sabry explained that watermelon contains another nutrient of great importance for mental health, which is vitamin B6, noting that it helps reduce feelings of anxiety and stress very effectively.
He pointed out that there are other benefits of watermelon, provided it is eaten in moderation, such as controlling blood pressure, maintaining body hydration, losing weight, promoting digestive health, and lowering harmful cholesterol in the blood.
