“Telekom Veszprém’s Handball Champion League Quarter-Finals Performance in Jeopardy Due to Patrik Ligetvári’s Finger Injury”

“In the middle of the second half, I got hit on the hand, my finger hurt a lot, it had to be looked at, but we haven’t come to anything yet. We need to go to the hospital and have a more serious examination” – the national team player told MTI on Thursday, after the 29-29 draw against the Polish Barlinek Industria Kielce, who immediately went to the doctor’s room after the whistle.

He added that he currently does not think he will be fit to play in a week.

Ligetvári explained that during the entire match, he felt that when the Polish team had to attack against a standing wall, they did not score as many goals.

“They scored a lot of goals when they attacked in a plus one, or when we sold the ball in front, or they had a defense and were able to run down” he explained.

The striker emphasized that he still feels very good about the team, they got what they were prepared for, he expected such a match. As he pointed out, their chances were worked out throughout the match, but there were some that they missed.

“That can be changed by shooting and being a bit more disciplined. After a difficult start, we managed to come back and could have won the match, but we missed some attacks. Their mistakes should have been exploited” he declared.

According to Ligetvári, the chances will be the same in the away match, because the host Kielce will have a bigger burden.

“We have to win and I think we can do it” he stated.
