Medical Inflation Continues to Impact Insurance Costs: Report on the Insurance and Surety Sector

At the end of the first quarter of 2023, the medical inflation continues to impact the cost of insurance for major medical expenses. In detail, the CNSF explained that the category of accidents and diseases grew 9.5%, mainly due to increases in medical expenses, while personal accidents fell 4.2%.

According to the National Insurance and Bond Commission, the value of the auto insurance premium reached 38 billion pesos.

For the entire insurance sector in the country, the CNSF reported a growth of 5.2% compared to the same period in 2022, with a total value of premiums of 220 billion pesos.
