The Primera store on Bosweg in Leek was robbed around 3 p.m. on Thursday. The police started a large-scale search on the nearby Landgoed Nienoord. The entire area has been combed, but the suspect has not been found.
During the robbery, an employee was threatened with a weapon. No one was injured. Three students witnessed. They were just passing in front of the store when the suspect came running across the road and entered the store. A short time later, they saw him come out again and realized something was wrong.
Another witness reports that the robber stood in front of the store for an hour, on the other side of the Bosweg.
Search
Police are looking for the suspect, who fled after the robbery. She has that Burgernet deployed. The suspect, an approximately 18-year-old man, was last seen in the vicinity of Landgoed Nienoord.
The police were there on Thursday afternoon with many people. Agents combed the forest of the estate with a drone team. The special intervention service, a police arrest squad, also searched the area. That team had police dogs with them.
The police were quickly on the spot, but the search in the forest was made more difficult because there were still many walkers and cyclists.
Heavy weapons
Just after 5:00 a.m., two more police cars arrived, with officers hurriedly gearing up with body armor and heavy weapons. That extra arrest team also went into the woods. It is not often that the police are on the road with such heavy artillery.
Around six o’clock the police stopped the search on Nienoord. “The entire area has been combed, but the suspect has not been found. We will search in other places,” said a member of one of the police teams.
