REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PANGANDARAN — Pangandaran Regent Jeje Wiradinata and Husein Ali Rafsanjani, a teacher who went viral after uncovering allegations of extortion and intimidation held a meeting today. After the meeting, Jeje apologized for the intimidation he experienced Hussein’s teacher while carrying out his duties as a teacher in Pangandaran Regency.
“I would rather apologize to Kang Husein if something undesirable happens or the officials are not wise enough,” said Jeje after meeting Husein at the Pangandaran Hall, Parigi District, Pangandaran Regency, Thursday (11/5/2023).
According to Jeje, the intimidation experienced by Husein was most likely the result of an overreaction from a number of parties in Pangandaran Regency. This is because conditions in Pangandaran Regency have been stable so far.
When there is something dynamic, there is overreaction. As a result, when Husein reported that there were allegations of extortion that occurred during the implementation of basic training (latsar) for prospective civil servants (CPNS) in 2021, he felt a certain amount of pressure.
“Maybe that’s it. When Kang Husein said there were extortion and so on, it was like a burning beard,” said Jeje.
In fact, Jeje said, the handling of reporting does not have to be like that. Officials are considered to still have to be humane and prioritize aspects of heart-to-heart communication.
According to him, the problem of intimidation experienced by Husein should be a lesson for all parties. Not only for ASN in Pangandaran Regency, but in all regions of Indonesia.
“No one should take the problem lightly. Only hundreds of thousands, for example, but when there are substantial and very fundamental matters, we must handle them properly. Don’t because there are reports of extortion, reporters are pressured. This pattern must be replaced,” said Jeje.
Regarding the allegations of extortion and intimidation that Husein experienced, Jeje said he would clarify what actually happened. Including the Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Pangandaran Regency.
“I will have a meeting to hear clarification,” he said.
Jeje also formed a special team which was given until Tuesday (16/5/2023) to complete the investigation. During the investigation period, Dani Hamdani’s position as Head of the Pangandaran District BKPSDM was temporarily deactivated.
“The team was given until Tuesday. Meanwhile, so that the team is free, I have decided that BKPSDM Head Dani Hamdani will be suspended from his position. Coordination regarding BKPSDM will be directly with the Regional Secretary,” he said.
On Thursday (11/5/2023), via his Twitter account, the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil said that he had recommended that the Pangandaran Regent temporarily suspend the Head of the Pangandaran Regency BKPSDM, Dani Hamdani. Previously, Husein admitted to being verbally intimidated during the trial process at the Pangandaran District BKPSDM building.
“This morning I recommended that the Pangandaran Regent temporarily disable the head of the Pangandaran BPSDM, while the Inspectorate team investigated this case objectively and transparently,” Emil said.
According to Emil, if later it is proven that there has been extortion as revealed by Husein, he asks for sanctions according to statutory regulations. However, if this is not proven, Emil asks for a good solution process for all parties.
