- Ubisoft has confirmed the job cuts, with its representative stating that “Ubisoft’s Customer Relations Center team is evolving its organization to focus on areas where we can have a significant impact while remaining true to our commitment to support our players all over the world” (via GamesIndustry.biz).

In January, Ubisoft canceled three games and wrote off €500 million in research and development costs related to upcoming or canceled titles. Ubisoft also announced a “targeted restructuring”, which resulted in layoffs. Soon after, comments by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot sparked controversy and led to a strike.
In March, the company also announced a reorganization of its European subsidiaries.
