Premier League
Jamie Vardy says Leicester City’s survival in the Premier League would be the biggest achievement of his club career with just three games remaining in the season.
Vardy led Leicester to crown the title in the 2015-2016 season when he scored 24 goals in one of the biggest football surprises.
However, the team is struggling to survive this season and is currently in the relegation positions, two points behind the safety zone.
“I think at this moment that surviving relegation will be my biggest achievement, it’s that important,” Vardy told TalkSport radio station.
“The task is daunting and I think pain is not a sufficient word to express my personal feeling after staying (in the Premier League) for so long, after all the ups and downs during my time here I never wanted to see the team in this situation, so it is difficult to comment on Our current position.
And the former England striker believes that it is difficult to determine what went wrong this season at Leicester, who sacked coach Brendan Rodgers last month.
And he continued, “If you ask people (before the season), 99 percent of them will not expect what is happening now, it is difficult to say the reasons that made us in this situation.”
Leicester, the FA Cup winner in 2020-2021, hosts Liverpool next Monday before visiting Newcastle United and then receives West Ham United in the last round.
