The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 11th that it is recruiting offline trainees for the ‘Semiconductor Academy’, which has been promoted with industry, academia, and professional organizations.
The Semiconductor Academy is an industry-leading, practical field manpower training institute for the system and advancement of semiconductor industry manpower training and management systems, and the industry, academia, and professional organizations were in charge of education together.
The academy plans to operate 5 semiconductor basic courses and 27 expert courses by utilizing the in-house training curriculum and dedicated instructors of 18 companies, including SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Wonik IPS.
Offline courses include ‘Foundry-oriented Semiconductor Design Expert Training Course’, ‘Next Generation Semiconductor Equipment Control and Software Expert Training Course’, ‘Next Generation Semiconductor Equipment Design Expert Training Course’, which is an expert training course for the unemployed for semiconductor chip design and equipment design. We plan to train a total of 100 people with around 40 people per course by operating an advanced course for 10 weeks.
In particular, all of the three courses launched this time are practice-oriented, and it is expected that high educational effects will be obtained as students can immediately apply what they have learned through theory in the field using the necessary equipment for each course.
Once academy trainees are recruited, they will be selected through a step-by-step screening process and the program will begin at the end of next month.
Afterwards, the academy plans to open additional training courses for each field, such as semiconductor testing and packaging, in the second half of the year to produce more than 3,600 field-customized manpower over the next five years.
