Israeli soldiers and Gaza guerrillas exchange cross-border fire. This happened after 22 citizens Palestine been dead for the past two days.
Reported by AFP, Thursday (11/5/2023), sirens in the Tel Aviv area and southern Israel warned that rockets had entered its territory. An AFP reporter in Gaza observes dozens of rockets being launched towards Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recorded ‘more than 400 rocket launches from Gaza on Wednesday (10/5) night. This launch came as the militants said the Palestinian “resistance” was maintaining its fire.
Earlier that day, smoke billowed from the densely populated coastal enclave after Israel announced it was targeting a militant rocket launch site.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s Health Ministry said seven people were killed, a day after Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian territories that killed 15 people. So that a total of 22 Palestinians were killed in 2 days.
Four of those killed Wednesday were fighters for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Meanwhile, AFP photographer witnesses witnessed Israeli air defenses intercepting rockets over the coastal city of Ashkelon and elsewhere in the south.
In a televised speech late Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was “still in the midst of a campaign,” stressing that “no Israeli civilians have been injured as of now”.
Israeli conflict-Palestine has increased since Netanyahu’s latest coalition, including far-right and ultra-Orthodox parties, took office in December.
