“Game of Thrones” Actress Hannah Waddingham Stuns as Eurovision Host, Impresses with Air Guitar Skills

On Tuesday, the stage was set for the first semi-final in this year’s Eurovision competition. After being held on the torture bench for what felt like an eternity, Norway earned the tenth and final place from the semi-finals.

Despite a nerve-wracking broadcast, it was something other than the finalists who “won the night and stole the show”.

Impressed

Tuesday’s semi-final was led by presenters Alesha Dixon (44), Jualia Sanina (32) and Hannah Waddingham (48), and it is the latter that has got people talking.

After Waddingham showed off his impressive air guitar skills and strong vocals, the hall was full of cheers. Several have also taken to social media to share how much the 48-year-old impressed.

Many agree that Waddingham stole the show, and are now urging people to vote for Great Britain during Saturday’s final so the 48-year-old can return as presenter next year.

But what many may not know is that Hannah Waddingham has played in one of the world’s biggest series.

Challenging scenes

The 48-year-old has been seen in nothing less than the viewer favorite “Game of Thrones”, which was on TV until 2019.

Waddingham played the role of Unella – a so-called “septa”, and appeared in seasons five and six. A “septa” is a woman who has sworn to celibacy. Sometimes they serve noble houses as tutors for their daughters.

Waddingham has previously told of when she developed a fear of water after filming a waterboarding scene for the sixth season of “Game of Thrones”.

– I was tied to a wooden bench with really solid straps for ten hours. It was the worst day of my life. Lena (Heady journ. note) thought it was uncomfortable to pour liquid on my face for so long, and I was completely out of my mind, Waddingham told in an interview with Collier.

In recent years, Waddingham has been seen in the series “Ted Lasso”, and she is also expected to be seen in “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two”, which will be released in cinemas in 2024.
