The outstanding Latvian guitarist, member of the groups “Sīpoli”, “Turaidas roze” and “Zodiaks” Aivars Gudrais will celebrate his 65th anniversary with a special concert at the Đadaži Cultural Center on May 11.
“Only his characteristic guitar sound and especially bright solo parts have touched the hearts of listeners for almost fifty years,” the concert organizers say, and these are not just empty words anymore. The special guests of the anniversary concert will be Aivars Gudrās stage colleagues and friends Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Ieva Sutugova, Zane Gudrā, Atis Ieviņš, Raimonds Ozols, Juris Kristons, Modris Laizāns and Ivars Kalniņš.
“I will be happy to meet my friends at my anniversary concert,” says jubilee Aivars Gudrais. “I am grateful to fate that for decades now I have been given the opportunity to play the music of favorite composers whom I consider my own – Mārtiņš Brauns, Imants Kalniņš and Jānis Lūsēns. It’s always a special pleasure to meet and play music together with my great stage colleagues, from whom I get inspiration and youthful vigor.”
In preparation for the anniversary concert, the composition “Station” by the composer Jānis Lūsēns and the poet Māras Melgalvas was recorded in a new sound and captured in a video clip. It was recorded by singer Zane Gudrā, guitarist Aivars Gudrais, drummer Harijs Gūtmanis and studio producer – musician Jānis Lūsēns junior.
