The Brazilian defender is attracting interest from European clubs with his outstanding performances and attacking skills on the pitch
The talent and versatility of Monza’s Brazilian full-back Carlos Augusto has caught the eye of many European clubs, including Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old joined Monza in September 2020 from Corinthians for a fee of around €4m. Since then, he has been one of the key players in the team, helping the club’s promotion to Serie A.
This season, Carlos Augusto has been even more impressive, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 31 league games which has caught the attention of many observers. He quickly became one of Serie A’s most prolific and promising defenders, delivering exceptional performances across two-thirds of the pitch.

Newcastle United have shown particular interest in Augusto and are considering making a bid for the Brazilian in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Magpies are looking for a quality left-back to replace Jetro Willems, who left the club in January 2020.
However, competition will be fierce for the English club as several Italian sides, including Juventus and Inter Milan, are also said to be interested in the defender’s services. Juventus are looking to bolster their squad for next season after a disappointing campaign, while Inter Milan are keen to build on their momentum after winning the Serie A title.

Despite the interest in their player, Monza won’t be willing to let Augusto go easily. The club want to retain their best player as they continue their rise in Italian football. However, if a convincing offer comes on the table, Monza might be tempted to accept and let their talented left-back go.
