A suspect is arrested in connection with the rape of a woman in East Harlem.
The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. Monday.
Police say Geovanni Romero Gonzales accosted the 21-year-old victim near East 111th Street and Second Avenue.
The uniformed woman says that Gonzáles tried to immobilize the victim and she tried to flee. But Gonzales did not allow it and raped her.
The suspect allegedly took the woman’s purse and cell phone.
Now he is being accused of rape, robbery, harassment and sexual abuse.
