Renfe issues almost 1,100 free multi-trip tickets in La Rioja for trips between May 1 and August 31

Today Renfe has started the return of the deposits of the free passes purchased in the first four months of the year for journeys in Cercanas, Rodalies or Media Distancia services, and that were paid with a bank card.
Travelers who have used the free pass in the first four-month period of 2023 will have their deposit returned (10 euros in the case of Cercanas and Rodalies, and 20 euros in Media Distancia) provided they have met the conditions thereof. Those who pay the deposit with a card will be automatically returned.
It is estimated that all returns of deposits paid by card will be made within a week. For those who do not receive the return, they can file a claim and they will be assisted in the after-sales service.

With regard to the season tickets for the second quarter (for journeys between May 1 and August 31), Renfe has already issued 1,091 multi-journey tickets for Media Distancia in La Rioja.
Renfe has reinforced the systems and information points for the acquisition of the new free passes, which can be done throughout the validity period of the ticket (until August 31).
To expedite the processing and avoid unnecessary waiting, the purchase of passes is possible through the Cercanas Renfe app, and in the case of Media Distancia passes through the website www.renfe.com and usual sales channels. The Cercanas app allows recurring Cercanas and Rodalies season tickets to be purchased quickly, easily and quickly, generating a QR code that is downloaded to the mobile phone and can later be used to control station access.
