International superstar Shakira sent new lined letters to her ex-partner, Gerard Pique, during her receiving the Woman of the Year award at the Billboard Awards in Miami, where she currently lives with her children.
The famous artist said in her speech while receiving the award: “It does not matter if someone is sincere or not, the most important thing is that we save ourselves before anything,” to loud applause in the place.
She also said, “There comes a time in every woman’s life when she should not depend on another person, and she should learn to love and accept herself.”
She added, “This year I learned that women are much stronger and braver than I thought. I also believe that we are more independent than we imagined.”
And she continued, “Who is the woman who did not seek attention, affection, or approval from the other and forgot herself? It happened to me,” indicating that “the search for the other is replaced by the search for oneself, and when the desire for perfection is replaced by the desire to be authentic.”
At the end of her speech, the famous star said: “When I felt lost, it was the music that helped me get back to myself.”
