Noctua has taken its forthcoming white case fans off its public roadmap. The Austrian cooler manufacturer has not completely scrapped those products, but wants to focus on other products first, Noctua confirms to Tweakers.
Nocturnal recently published its updated roadmap, which runs through 2024. The white versions of its case fans are no longer listed there. Previously, those fans were still on the schedule for next year. With that, the release to the fans seemed to have been postponed until after 2024 or deleted altogether. The latter is not the case, a Noctua spokesperson confirms to Tweakers.
“We are currently focusing all of our energies on releasing key products such as the next-generation 140mm fan and the next-gen NH-D15 CPU cooler,” the company said. “This means we’re devoting less resources to relatively low-priority projects like the white fans. That doesn’t mean they’ve been completely scrapped.”
A spokesperson for Noctua therefore reports to Tweakers that the company is no longer sure whether the fans will come out next year. “I’d say there’s still a chance they could still be released in 2024, but we’re not busy with them at the moment, so we don’t dare give an expected release window.”
Noctua is currently working on several products, including the aforementioned new version of the NH-D15 processor cooler and new 140mm fan. Those products were both supposed to appear in the last quarter of 2023, but have also moved up the updated roadmap. The 140mm fan is now planned for the first quarter of next year. The new CPU cooler should appear sometime in 2024, with Noctua not mentioning a quarter.
Noctua regularly updates its roadmaps and also indicates that its roadmap is not completely fixed. The company writes on its website that upcoming products may be delayed for various reasons, such as further R&D, fine-tuning, production capacity and ‘coordination with other projects’.
