Artist Ieva Bondar in the conversation with the “Māmiņu klubu” program, she does not hide that her children have grown up and started their own independent lives, so she has to learn to live alone with her husband, ex-politician Mārtins Bondar. She does not hide – it is not easy.
“This year, my beloved man, my husband and I are learning to live together. In 31 years, we are alone for the first time, as all three big children have grown up, each gone on their own lives. If before that I told all the new moms to keep your baby on your lap as long as possible while they are little because they grow up very fast. And so it is. Therefore, now you have to learn to wait when someone calls you and asks for advice. When my son got married and left for his own life, even then I had to learn to wait patiently, instead of calling myself every day and asking – are you all right? But by and large, I have always put my children and family first. It has always been my priority, so it’s really not easy at the moment,” says Ieva.
The “empty nest” syndrome has also brought its benefits, because now she and her husband can more freely visit friends or receive guests, because they no longer have to think about the children’s extracurricular activities and how to manage it all, but you have to get used to this new life arrangement.
Three children are growing up in the family of former politician Mārtiņš and artist Ieva Bondarus – the eldest son Daniels and two daughters – Julia and Jasmīna.
