PKS Not Worried About Anies Baswedan’s Electability in Presidential Election

PKS no problem with the electability of the presidential election Anies Baswedan is in third position in a number of survey results under Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo. PKS brought up similar conditions that had occurred in the 2017 DKI Pilkada.

“In our survey, don’t get too confused. That’s normal, but later field practice will illustrate,” said PKS Secretary General Habib Aboe Bakar Al Habsy at the KPU RI office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (8/5/2023).

Aboe then brought up the results of Anies’ survey ahead of the 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilkada. He said that although Anies was always in third place, he managed to win.

“Anies when he was in DKI was always number 3, but the winner, right? So I think our survey each has its own,” he said.

“I’m sure PDIP will have a survey, NasDem will have a survey, Cerindra will have a survey, PKS will also have a survey. Yes, God willing, the survey will convince PKS and Anies to include people who hopefully get the best choice,” he added.

Previously, the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh also commented on the electability of his presidential candidate, Anies Baswedan, in a number of survey institutions. He doesn’t have a problem with Anies’ electability, which tends to stagnate in third place.

“It’s okay, just try not to be in fourth place,” said Paloh after holding a closed meeting with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B Pandjaitan at Wisma Nusantara, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Friday (5/5).

Paloh considers it natural that the electability of presidential candidates continues to change in various survey institutions. Also, he said, no one can be sure that the names of potential presidential candidates will continue to be at the top.

“Yes, it’s normal, right? It means that a circulation will continue and move on. Who can make sure, then, when 3 or 4 months ago he was ranked first, he was still in the first ranking position, in the end he wasn’t,” he said.

Paloh said Anies’s electability was once at the top of the survey even though it is now declining. However, Paloh believes that Anies’ electability can be raised again according to the political situation in the future.

“Anies was in that position, Anies was in second place, now Anies is in third place. This allows Anies to be in the top position again. But that all depends on the situation and circumstances going forward,” added Paloh.
