A serious accident occurred at night on Slivnitsa Blvd. and Konstantin Velichkov Blvd. According to initial information, a boy and a girl were hit and died at the scene, and two others were hospitalized. According to information from the Ministry of the Interior, the serious accident happened minutes before midnight. The man and woman were on the sidewalk in the crosswalk area, specified BNR.
The boy is 23 years old, and the girl is apparently 18-19 years old, Nova TV said.
A user writes on the “I, the reporter” platform of btv that a driver of a black Ford hit a girl on a pedestrian crossing. It later became clear that a boy had also been killed on the same footpath. The young woman died on the spot from the strong impact. The driver left the scene of the accident without checking the condition of the girl who was hit and continued in the direction of “Konstantin Velichkov” Blvd., and shortly before the intersection, he hit a taxi.
The impact caused the Ford to spin, mount the pavement and strike other pedestrians. Two others were taken to hospital in serious condition.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene of the serious accident in Sofia, the emergency services announced this morning.
The leader is 18 years old, has had his license for less than 2 months. Most likely, he failed to stop, not noticing the young people who were preparing to cross the pedestrian path.
According to initial information, the police officers who arrived at the scene conducted alcohol and drug tests on the driver. They are negative.
However, witnesses to the accident are not of the same opinion.
“The driver was not adequate. I saw a man in a drunken state, staggering and unable to assimilate what was happening”a witness to the serious accident told Nova TV.
The driver of the vehicle in the crash was not injured.
