Brawls Break Out Among Turkish Election Groups in Amsterdam RAI

According to the police, it was very restless in and around the RAI in Amsterdam on Sunday evening. Just after 9 p.m., brawls broke out between groups who were there for the Turkish elections. Officers with dogs intervened. The ME was also deployed.

It is not known if anyone was injured or if any arrests have been made. Last week there was also a brawl between voters in the RAI.

Turkish Dutch people could still vote on Sunday for the presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey. In addition to Amsterdam, there were also voting locations in The Hague, Deventer and Eindhoven.

The election battle is mainly between current president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and opposition leader Kemal Kiliçdaroglu.
