“Customs Seize 12 Tonnes of Illegal Cigarettes Worth €6 Million in the Loire”

Nearly 12 tonnes of contraband cigarettes were seized in the Loire.

€6 million worth of goods

It was the customs service of Saint-Etienne who made the seizure, in La Pacaudière, in the north of the department. They were transported by a semi-trailer registered in Latvia, and coming from Spain. 60,000 cartridges were therefore inside, in addition to plumbing materials, for an estimated value of €6 million. The driver is currently in police custody in Roanne.
