This Sunday morning an increase in traffic in the city is expected because many streets will be available only for bicycles.
Cyclists from across the city and around the world ride the annual five-borough tour.
As usual, this event is held every year on the first Sunday of May.
Cyclists go through all the neighborhoods, completely free of cars.
The organizers say that this Sunday some 30,000 cyclists will participate.
The event is promoted as the world’s largest charity bike ride.
Proceeds from the bike tour are donated to the cycling advocacy group Bike New York.
The money helps pay for free bike education programs.
