WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, LABUAN BAJO — Main Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo checked the field and immediately confirmed the reliability of electricity at all locations where the ASEAN Summit was held.
In addition, it also provides certainty for the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) service for charging delegate vehicles. The check was carried out on Saturday (6/5/2023) in Labuan Bajo.
“This event will be the face and pride of the Indonesian people. So, I and the Board of Directors were present directly on the field. Earlier I checked the main venue and SPKLU. I can assure you that all the electrical infrastructure to support the ASEAN Summit is 100 percent ready to use,” said Darmawan .
Just like previous international events, PLN has also implemented an electricity scheme without flickering or Zero Down Time (ZDT) through layered supply at this ASEAN Summit.
Especially for priority venues such as the Meruorah Komodo Hotel, Ayana Resort, Laprima Hotel, Sudamala Resort Komodo, Plataran Komodo Hotel, Mice Tanamori, Komodo Airport, Sylvia Hotel, Puncak Waringin, media center and other supporting facilities.
“We are checking all the electrical infrastructure, starting from the electricity network and substations, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), SPKLU, to the rooms that will be used by the Head of State,” Darmawan explained.
During one of his visits, Darmawan also met directly with the West Manggarai Regent, Edistasius Endi at the West Manggarai Regent’s Office.
During the visit, Darmawan expressed his appreciation for the collaboration that has been going well between PLN and the West Manggarai Regency Government in preparing the electricity infrastructure to support the ASEAN Summit.
“We are very grateful to the West Manggarai Regency Government for working hand in hand with PLN to make this ASEAN Summit a success. One of them is in providing land for electrical equipment and SPKLU in the Regent’s office yard,” said Darmawan.
The presence of SPKLU at the ASEAN Summit is very important, because the mobilization of all delegations, security and operations will use electric vehicles.
PLN has provided 108 SPKLUs to meet the demand for electric power for 271 vehicles.
“All SPKLUs are ready. For operations, we will continue to coordinate, especially with Paspampres in arranging the implementation of charging electric vehicles,” said Darmawan.
West Manggarai Regent, Edistasius Endi appreciates PLN for preparing an electricity system in Labuan Bajo to support the ASEAN Summit.
According to him the success of this event will be a source of pride for the Indonesian people.
“On behalf of the Government and all the people of West Manggarai, I thank PLN. PLN’s coordination and preparations have been seen long ago, long before the others started preparing,” said Edistasius.
Edistasius and Darmawan also tried to directly charge the delegation’s electric vehicle using the PLN SPKLU located at the West Manggarai Regent’s Office.
“Earlier we checked the SPKLU and we tried it directly to charge the electric vehicle. Everything works fine. Charging is also easy and very fast,” said Edistasius.
