American urologist Aaron Spitz has made it his mission to clear up misunderstandings about the penis. To this end he wrote, among other things, the bestseller “The Penis Book”.
“I want people to understand their penis, or that of their loved one, learn to take good care of it and enjoy it. The recommendations for diet, exercise and other aspects of your lifestyle that I discuss in this book improve not only sexual performance but also overall health.” he says in HLN.
“Most men who think their penis is too small have a normal penis size, but only if you don’t compare it to the penises in porn movies. Also, people often think that erection problems are ‘in the mind’. As a result, women often give their man – or even worse, himself – to blame. But the cause is usually physical. For example, a problem in bed can be a warning sign of a heart attack or stroke later on.”
“Foods that increase nitric oxide (NO) levels are good for erections. This substance increases blood flow to the penis. Viagra and similar pills work the same way. Green leafy vegetables such as lettuce and bok choy are one of the best sources.”
“Chocolate lovers appear to have almost a third less risk of heart disease and stroke, which means they have healthier blood circulation and therefore healthier penises. The effect is attributed to high levels of flavonoids in chocolate that increase nitric oxide levels. Pistachios are also a great pre-sex snack.”
