A stand where you could sow spices and flowers, which, arranged in small pots, were allowed to be taken home and when the seedling had grown, brought back and together to decorate the “Garden of Awakening” attracted a lot of interest.
“We are glad that Karosta has such a place where we can come and relax. We are not very frequent guests, but we use such opportunities,” says Silga, who came to the opening celebration with her son Rihardas.
“We’re going to try to grow raspberries and lettuce,”
says Rihards proudly and hopes that his mother will support his idea to also come to the “Dziļi Violets” concert in the evening.
Cultural coordinator of SIA “Māras Lācis” Inta Dobele says that in the new season, visitors will be welcomed by an expanded cultural program, new, unusual pieces adapted to different styles.
One of the nearest unusual events is planned for June 9, when an open-air SILENT DISCO will be held in the territory of “Atmodas Dārzs” as part of the “Karostas Festival”.
Madars Markus-Narvils, the author and creator of the “Atmodas Dārza” idea, admits that
last season resembled a theater dress rehearsal,
when the process is important, but everything is still unclear, many things can be adapted, changed and developed.
“This year we are more ready to “play for real”, but we will continue to develop and look for new opportunities to please our visitors,” said Madar.
Despite the cool weather, it was really hot in the evening, the group “Dziļi Violets” and Sanda Dejus – the musically creative association “Uz labu laimi” – were able to unite the gathered people shoulder to shoulder to indulge in a party.
Before the band went on stage, the guests of “Revival garden” took the best seats at the tables, chatted in groups and lazily approached the stage.
“You come closer, take pictures and film safely. Come, come!” immediately invited S. Dejus and the audience indulged until there was no sign of laziness.
The boundary “artist-spectator” was demolished immediately, it was a party for everyone together, on both sides of the stage.
The audience sang along with raised hands, called “repeat” and did not let the artists leave for a long time, asking for a photo together.
The opening event of the season “Wake up and OPEN” was co-financed by the Liepāja Culture Board.
